Stored Natural Gas.
Power On!

Intro

Will you generate electricity on the coldest winter nights or hottest summer days?

Many power plants receive natural gas "just in time" via pipelines.  They have little to no fuel storage.  Not even many "black start" power plants.

Winter storms disrupt gas pipeline deliveries.  Natural gas storage at power plants enhances electricity security.

EnergyFlex Ventures can help you permit, build, and operate LNG and PLNG fuel storage which can power your electricity for days.

Solution

Gas Storage for better Electrical Grid Resilience

  1.  Liquified Natural Gas (LNG)

    • Proven technology widely deployed for decades for gas distribution

    • Proven paths to obtaining permits using conventional bullets and tanks

    • LNG by truck for up to 50 MW power generation capacities

    • Produce LNG on site for 100 to 1000+ MW, can consider trucked LNG sales.

  2. Pressurized Liquified Natural Gas (PLNG) at 10 to 16 atmospheres / bar-g.

    • 30-45 % less energy than LNG

    • Reduced GHGe (Scope 1 by 90+%, Scope 2 by 25-35%) versus
      unpressured LNG

Permitting Benchmarks (by others)

LNG Facilities to “Stockpile” Energy

Northeast Energy Center (NEC), Charlton, Massachusetts:  5.5 year project life cycle

  • Operations April 1, 2024.  “First Petition” to construct August 31, 2018

  • Project Components:  Gas pretreatment; Liquefaction at 250,000 gallons per day; 2-million gallon full-containment; field-erected LNG storage tank; Four bay LNG truck-loading station

Desktop screening study:  LNG storage facility at a power generation company (GenCo) site in Texas.

  • Project schedule of three years was possible  (Front End Engineering & Design for permitting deliverables to Operations)

  • Approvals required from over 20 entities (regulatory agency, other approving authority, or utility provider)
